About Mosaico

Who we are

Our mission

Mosaico coordinates international residence, mobility and redomiciliation projects for individuals and families, bringing structure and clarity to complex cross-border processes.

We act as a central point of coordination, facilitating collaboration between clients and licensed legal, tax and investment professionals. Our role is to ensure a transparent, well-coordinated process, while leaving all legal, tax and investment advice to the appropriately licensed professionals.

Every project is unique, and our approach reflects each client’s individual circumstances and needs.

Our approach

Independence is at the heart of everything we do.

Mosaico does not recommend, promote or favour any particular investment fund. Our Same-Rate Rule ensures that our fee remains identical regardless of the fund a client selects, so our remuneration is never influenced by their investment choice.

Our fee structure reflects this commitment to transparency and impartiality. For clients pursuing the Portugal Golden Visa through an investment fund, our fee is the same regardless of the fund selected, and investment funds are our sole source of remuneration. We receive no fees or commissions from lawyers, banks, property agents or any other third parties.

For clients who choose the donation route, Mosaico charges no fee.

This model aligns our remuneration with our role as an independent coordinator, allowing us to focus on our clients’ needs and the smooth execution of their cross-border projects.

Frequently asked questions

Questions from new clients

How is Mosaico different from other Golden Visa firms?

Mosaico offers an independent, tailored approach focused on your objectives and personal situation.

We work alongside your existing advisors (CPA, wealth manager, lawyer) and ensure multi-jurisdiction alignment across strategy, timeline, and compliance.

Unlike advisers who are paid referral commissions by fund managers — which can create an incentive to recommend the fund that pays the highest commission rather than the one that best fits your situation — Mosaico does not recommend, promote or favour any particular fund. Our Same-Rate Rule means our fee is identical regardless of which fund you choose, so what you select never influences what we earn.

Do I need Mosaico if I already have a Portuguese lawyer?

Mosaico works in collaboration with Portuguese lawyers, not as a replacement. Our added value can include:

  • Comparison of the Golden Visa routes available to you (investment fund or donation)
  • Cross-border tax coordination with your advisors
  • Reading and comparison of CMVM funds (non-promotional)
  • Citizenship planning and multi-year timeline management
  • Single point of contact for multi-jurisdiction families

Many clients appreciate an alignment point that “translates” requirements between jurisdictions and reduces friction.

How are your fees structured?

Our structure is transparent and depends on scope (initial framing, full coordination, citizenship planning).

We present a clear proposal after the initial discussion, with no hidden costs. We limit onboarding of new clients to maintain a tailored service.

For the Portugal Golden Visa, investment funds are our only source of remuneration. We receive no fees or commissions from lawyers, banks, property agents or any other third party, and the donation route carries no fee for us at all. Our fee is confirmed in writing from the outset, with no ambiguity or surprises.

Can you help me if I don’t know which Golden Visa route to choose?

Yes. The initial discussion is precisely meant to compare the Golden Visa routes available to you, based on:

  • Available capital
  • Income profile and tax exposure
  • Desired presence in Portugal
  • Citizenship timeline objectives
  • Family structure

We frame the constraints, then coordinate with your advisors to converge on the most appropriate route.

Do you work only with American clients?

No. Although approximately 90% of our clients are American, we also work with families worldwide — notably in Europe (United Kingdom, Portugal, EU), the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia), Asia (China, Singapore, Hong Kong) and Latin America (Brazil, Mexico).

We work with tax advisors in multiple jurisdictions (US, UK, CH, PT, etc.) to ensure consistent framing. This international reach is particularly suited to families who wish to structure a Portugal residence/citizenship strategy from anywhere.
